Chimney Rock Winery & Estate began to take shape in 1980, when Hack and Stella Wilson purchased a 180 acre parcel situated on the east side of the Silverado Trail. They built their country house based on Cape Dutch-style architecture and started planting vineyards shortly afterwards.

In 2000, the Terlato family joined the Wilson family as partners in the winery with added resources and enhancing Chimney Rock’s reputation for producing some of the world’s great estate Cabernet Sauvignons. The Chimney Rock estate now comprises 119 acres of vineyards divided into 28 distinct blocks, allowing for highly specialized viticulture suited to each specific site.

Saintsbury

Saintsbury

Saintsbury Winery was founded by Richard Ward and David Graves in 1981. Hands on experience in the industry by working together at several Napa wineries. The property where the winery is located was grazing land at the time of their purchase. Besides the estate property, they also own two other vineyards in the Carneros area and in addition source grapes from nearby vintners. Today Pinot noir is really their specialty; they produce a number of different styled Pinots. In addition, they still produce Chardonnay and more recently a cool weather Syrah sourced from neighboring Sonoma County.

Trefethen

Trefethen Family Vineyards produces a diverse range of award-winning varietal, blended and reserve wines – all from our Napa Valley estate – exhibiting the classic hallmarks of fine wine quality: richness with elegance, concentration with finesse, complexity with harmony, and sophistication with approachability. Reflecting both the relatively cool climate of our Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley estate vineyard and the Trefethen family’s preference for balanced wines, this classic style dovetails perfectly with the growing movement of connoisseurs in the United States away from wines of unbridled alcohol and ripeness toward wines of greater finesse and food-friendliness.

Opus One Winery is located in Oakville. The winery was founded as a joint venture between Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild and Robert Mondavi to create a single Bordeaux style blend based upon Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The creation of this winery venture in 1980 was big news in the wine industry; de Rothschild’s involvement added an air of respectability to the burgeoning Napa wine region. The first vintage, 1979 was released in 1984 at the same time as the 1980 vintage.

mondavi

Robert Mondavi established his namesake winery in 1966 with a vision to create Napa Valley wines that would stand in the company of the world’s finest. He chose To Kalon Vineyard in the heart of the Napa Valley as the home for Robert Mondavi Winery. This first-growth vineyard, located in Oakville, California, is renowned for producing some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon wines in the world, as well as for its Sauvignon Blanc grapes, from which Mr. Mondavi crafted his signature wine, Fumé Blanc.

Along with To Kalon Vineyard, Robert Mondavi Winery sources grapes from some of Napa Valley’s finest vineyards, including Stag’s Leap (Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc) and Carneros (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay).

Mr. Mondavi believed that wines should reflect their origins, that they are the product of the soil, the climate, and the careful stewardship of those precious resources. He also believed in combining the newest techniques and technology with time-honored winemaking [...]

domaine_carneros

Founded by the noble family behind Champagne Taittinger, Claude Taittinger’s search for a worthy U.S. counterpart began in the late 1970s. In 1987 he selected a 138-acre parcel in the heart of Carneros, Napa Valley. Wisely selecting Eileen Crane to oversee the development of the winery and vineyards, the team created the quintessential California expression of the Taittinger style in Carneros.

The heart of Domaine Carneros has always been sparkling wines, with distinctive styles ranging from the classic vintage-dated Brut cuvée to our luxury Le Rêve Blanc de Blancs. In 1992 we added rich, complex Pinot Noir to our portfolio and our passion for sparkling and still wines continues to grow.
